Every little movement... shoot!
Beretta 92 pen gun writes the successes of a leading company in the field of sporting and defense weapons.
To avoid going out with a 9 mm Parabellum in your pocket (ammunition born for military purposes) and to remember a reference weapon of the renowned Beretta arms factory (the 92, a semi-automatic pistol produced from the seventies in many variants), Maurizio Abrami (Lazzaroni Pens, Jewelry for writing, Brescia) and Sereno Innocenti (professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Brescia) designed the Beretta 92 pen.
The design and guidelines of the object, created by Delta, stem from the dimensional and geometric relationship of the barrel and frame of the weapon, while the Beretta emblem, engraved with three arrows, is used to shape and originate the clip of the ballpoint pen.
Thus, the lethal weapon, wielded by Mel Gibson in the eponymous film, delivers its shots through the fluidity of a high-capacity ink refill. “…Every little movement shoots – sings Lucio Dalla peacefully – before the other does the same with you…”.
The meeting between Professor Sereno Innocenti and Maurizio Abrami takes place in the Lazzaroni pen laboratory, but it is at a table of an old tavern, on a borrowed piece of paper, that the first sketch of the Beretta 92 pen takes shape, and then the object materializes thanks to the skill of Delta's artisans, meeting the appreciation of Ugo Vassalli Beretta, leader of one of the most famous Italian companies internationally for the technological content and performance of its products.
Almost five hundred years of activity (documentary evidence dates back to 1526) have led the Pietro Beretta arms factory to be one of the leading companies in the sector, so much so that its weapons have been supplied to the armed forces and police forces of Italy and numerous other countries for years.
In terms of pistols, the most significant success in the sector is represented by the acquisition of the Beretta 92 series by the U.S. Armed Forces and state police and later by the French Gendarmerie nationale, L'Armée de l'air, and the Spanish Guardia Civil.
Moreover, in 2009, Beretta won the largest military contract since the Second World War: model 92FS pistols, intended for the US Army, for a supply of 450,000 pieces.
Thanks to the significant successes achieved in international markets, Beretta received the Leonardo Award, Quality Italy 2011, presented at the end of January by the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano.
In the warranty accompanying the object, it reads: “The Beretta 92 ballpoint pen marks an extraordinary coincidence between two objects, the pen and the pistol, which, although with different postures, are held in hand, or rather grasped with the necessary delicacy, but also with the certainty of their use”, but the style of the object ensures that the pen holder block shaped like the 92’s slide is one with the sphere, almost as if it were a bullet ready to be fired.
Both the pen base and the ballpoint pen have been made in metal, worked and hand-finished from solid bar, polished and nickel-plated.
The dedicated packaging completes everything with the profile of the entire silhouette of the pistol and the reproduction of the Beretta villa in Gardone Val Trompia in the province of Brescia, always an icon of the brand.
The Beretta 92 pen, initially created as a limited edition corporate gift, is now available in Beretta shops-in-shop, which guarantee all the company's product lines: from weapons to clothing.
