Caran d'Ache » 1010 Watchmaking
1010 LIMITED EDITION
TEN MINUTES PAST TEN ...
Designed and developed by Maison Caran d'Ache in its Geneva workshops, the 1010 Limited Edition pays a precious tribute to the culture of Swiss watchmaking. It represents ten minutes past ten, the moment when the hands of the clock are in a position of perfect balance. The roots in excellent craftsmanship, mechanical creativity, and the pursuit of beauty are the bridges that naturally connect the ancient art of watchmaking with that of the finest writing instruments, created for almost 100 years in the Caran d'Ache Manufacture.
The exceptional 1010 pens incorporate the codes of Haute Horlogerie. The intertwined wheels sculpting the body of the pen with its elaborate details evoke the working parts of watch movements. The fine miniaturization, extreme attention to finishes on every millimeter of material, and the use of transparency are reminiscent of the hand-crafted skeleton masterpieces that are the pride of great master watchmakers of the Swiss valleys and mountains. Like watchmakers, the master craftsmen of Caran d'Ache have expanded the 1010 collection to encompass three worlds: those of refinement and transparency for classic tastes and for Haute Joaillerie; and that of dynamic contrasts and matte finishes for the more sporty.
