Brixia Futura 20 23 is a long-standing project dedicated to Brescia, a fascinating "open-air museum" which materializes in the year in which it finally finds the right recognition with the election as "Capital of Culture 2023", together with the city of Bergamo. The pen is intended to be a tribute to the city with a predominantly industrial character, which does not forget its historical roots. Last Roman outpost of ancient Italy (here we find the largest Roman archaeological area in the whole of Northern Italy: a very important historical legacy in the heart of the city, a World Heritage Site since 2011 together with the San Salvatore – Santa Giulia monumental complex) , Brescia, has always kept alive its role of commercial exchange and technological innovation with Europe, of which it is the nerve center thanks to a top-level industrial supply chain.Brixia Futura 20 23 mentions the Capitolium museum, a UNESCO heritage site and the Winged Victory, the city's symbol of rebirth.
The body is entirely made of a special two-color resin, shaped and smoothed drawing on the memory of the ancient restored Doric columns of the Capitoline Temple.
The caseback in the shape of a medieval glass, in rhodium-plated metal embellished with engravings of ancient miniature friezes, incorporates the reverse of the "Grosso", the first Brescian coin minted starting from 1183.
On the cap entirely made of white marble resin turned from solid bar, the clip stands out, an ambitious miniature sculpture inspired by several suggestions: the wings of the Winged Victory, the 1000 Miglia arrow, but above all a dragonfly for its multiple and positive symbolism. According to a Native American legend, the dragonfly was originally a true wise dragon whose breath was able to generate the magic with which it gave light to the world.
Brixia Futura 20 23 in its entirety is a tribute to Brescia, for its history, its traditions but above all it wants to be an inspiration for a new generation of citizens who know how to be protagonists of this society of ours.
A pen that stimulates thoughts, light and impalpable like the flight of a dragonfly, which helps us to always take into consideration our roots, our places, our city to look to the future.
