The original Bullet Space Pen was conceived in July 1948. Paul Fisher soon worked on a new pen design modeled in solid aluminum. It became the first Fisher ballpoint pen, the 400 Bullet Pen, and probably the most popular pen of the twentieth century. This pen is entirely made of brass with a matte black finish. In this embellished version with the addition of a symbolic gold-tone Space Shuttle emblem attached to the clip and the engraving of the moon landing date. Apollo 11 July 20, 1969
Cited as an exceptional example of industrial art, the classic design of the Fisher Bullet Pen has been displayed for years at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The timeless style of the Bullet has been the subject of many art books and magazine articles. Often imitated, but never duplicated, the Fisher Bullet continues to be Fischer's most popular pen.
When closed, the Bullet Space pens are the perfect size to carry in a wallet, pocket, purse, glove compartment, organizer, or toolbox. When open, it is a standard-sized writing instrument that is evenly balanced.
