Description
Around the World in 80 Days is the famous adventure novel by French writer Jules Verne, published in 1872. In the story, wealthy British gentleman Phileas Fogg and his newly hired French valet Passepartout tries to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days to win a £20,000 bet concluded with friends at the Reform Club the journey begins by train from London at 8pm :45 on Oct. 2 and continues stops at Suez, Bombay, Hong Kong, Yokohama, San Francisco, New York, and is due to finish at the club at the same time on Dec. 21, 80 days later.
The second collection of special editions of “Around the World in 80 Days” is inspired by Phileas Fogg and Passepartout's journey from Bombay to Yokohama.
The Doué Classique ballpoint pen with gold-finish metal cap and dégradé anthracite lacquer barrel The diamond suit of the playing cards is reproduced in red lacquer on the clip and is inspired by the bet. The gold-finish metal cap is engraved with a travel-inspired motif featuring Indian, Chinese and Japanese lucky symbols.
The second engraved motif is positioned on the cone and is inspired by the jewels of Princess Auda, symbol of Phileas Fogg's bet.
