James Byron Dean (1931 – 1955) was an American actor, a cultural icon symbolizing the disenchantment and social alienation of the teenagers of the time, perfectly represented by his most acclaimed film, "Rebel Without a Cause" (1955), in which he plays the role of the troubled teenager Jim Stark.
The overall design of this writing instrument is inspired by the knife James Dean uses in the film "Rebel Without a Cause." The wooden cap also reflects the handle of the knife. The pattern on the sterling silver Ag 925 body is inspired by the engraving on the engine of his favorite sports car. The body also bears the engraving of his famous quote: "Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today.” The edition is limited to 1,931 pieces in reference to his birth year.
