The name Ferrari is synonymous with aesthetic design, powerful engines, constant technical innovation, and one of the most influential figures in the history of automotive sports. With boundless vision and an unbridled passion for motorsports, Enzo Ferrari helped his company achieve unparalleled prestige by creating an everlasting legend.

Montblanc dedicated the Montblanc Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Special Edition to this man and his passion for racing. Taking inspiration from both the coat of arms of Enzo Ferrari's hometown – Modena – and the iconic color of the racing team's logo, this edition pays homage to the second soul of Ferrari: yellow. Engraved on the cone are the dates of Enzo Ferrari's birthday and his first victory in a race, while the top of the cap features his signature and the name of his father's workshop, “Officina Meccanica Alfredo Ferrari,” referencing his origins.

It is adorned with the Montblanc emblem made of precious blue resin, an additional tribute to the Modenese coat of arms, and highlighted by intricate metalwork reminiscent of a vintage car grille. Enzo Ferrari's first victory at the Circuito del Savio also marked the dawn of the now-famous Ferrari logo. Among the numerous spectators admiring Enzo Ferrari's daring driving that day was the family of the ace of Italian aviation, Francesco Baracca, who had served in the same division as Enzo's brother, Dino, during World War I. Francesco Baracca's mother, Countess Paolina Biancoli, suggested to Enzo Ferrari to use the emblem of a rampant and unbridled horse from her son's aircraft as a good luck charm on his racing cars. Being associated with the courage and will to dominate of a national hero, the emblem was the ideal symbol for Enzo. Nine years later, the Cavallino Rampante was used for the first time on a yellow background to decorate a car.

It was 1932 at the 24 Hours of Spa, and the Ferrari team secured first and second place with two cars displaying the Cavallino Rampante. The Cavallino Rampante is engraved on the cap of the Montblanc Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Special Edition, along with the words of the Countess: “It will bring you luck.” The first car made by Ferrari, the 125 S, with twelve cylinders, rolled out of the Maranello factory on March 12, 1947. Twelve engraved lines symbolize the twelve cylinders. Enzo Ferrari's motto, “You cannot describe passion, you can only live it,” decorates the ruthenium-finished clip. A tribute to Enzo's success, the solid gold Au 585 nib with a ruthenium finish is embossed with the word “Pilota” (one of his nicknames) and the steering wheel of the 250 GTO, one of the most famous racing cars in the world.
