Montblanc » Patron of Art Ludovico Sforza
Limited edition fountain pen. Black lacquer body and Sterling silver inlays. 750 solid gold nib adorned with engravings inspired by the Sforza family crest. Piston filling system.
Limited Edition 4810: the Montblanc Patron of Art 2013 is a tribute to the nickname of the Duke of Milan, Ludovico Sforza, "il Moro," and his epic armor.
It is also an homage to this man's virtue, equally divided between enlightened humanism, thanks to which he revealed Leonardo Da Vinci's genius to the world, and diplomatic audacity, which brought prosperity to the Duchy of Milan.
The fountain pen features a black lacquer body with Sterling silver inlays that evoke the elegant naturalistic arabesque with which Leonardo decorated the Sala dell’Asse in the Sforza Castle. The famous Milanese monument is recognized at the cap's end, with the representation of the protruding battlements, and on the barrel, with the shape of the cusp crowning the Filarete Tower.
Around the cap band, you can read the inscription of the Testone, a Renaissance coin, minted with the face of Ludovico Sforza himself.
The 750 solid gold nib is adorned, with admirable artisanal mastery, with engravings inspired by the family's coat of arms.
