Description
In 1929, Pelikan was the first company in the world to include the differentiated piston mechanism in its production, a technique that causes the piston to rotate faster than the final part of the barrel. Today the versions of the pens change, but the mechanism remains the same.
This wonderful fountain pen obviously has this mechanism but it also has a detail that was launched in 1950. The green striped barrel, in fact, has become the global symbol of the Pelikan brand, thanks to the secretary of the Weimar Republic who was famous for his suits lines.
The production of this writing instrument requires a lot of effort. The raw cotton material undergoes numerous processing stages until it is transformed into a lined sheet. At this point it is modeled, sandblasted and cut into a cylinder shape with the help of a diamond. Subsequently, the golden rings are integrated into what will become the pen barrel or cap. A job carried out with extreme precision, to obtain a structure that has no junction point between one material and another. the writing instrument is then polished and then, as a final stage, the clasp is mounted, characterized by a slight spring effect and the classic "pelican beak" shape.
