Sailor reinterprets the KOP 'Sabinuri' Urushi fountain pen with a special limited edition called "Wabi Sabi". A true pocket-sized work of art.
The Irogasane Sabinuri production process is long and difficult and strictly follows 14 stages of processing carried out by the master Hurushi Wayo Shimamori.
The stages follow in a very precise order that goes:
- from the Application of Urushi lacquer on ebonite body, Lacquer Drying, Sanding with charcoal,
- Sabi-Tuke Treatment (application of a paste composed of polishing powder and Urushi lacquer), Lacquer Drying, Sanding,
- 2nd Sabi-Tuke Treatment (creation of raised parts), Lacquer Drying, Sanding,
- Application of Urushi lacquer, Lacquer Drying,
- Application of colored lacquer on raised parts,
- Application of metallic powder,
- Application of finishing lacquer,
