Tsuru, Momiji, Maiko, Fuji, Tale of Genji: there are 5 models in this collection, painted using the Kyo Maki-e technique by artist Kosen Oshita, one of the world's most prominent artists in the creation of Maki-e pens.
The ancient Maki-e painting combines with a variety of precious stones placed superficially on the object to be designed. The typically Japanese designs are skillfully depicted using natural Urushi lacquer and other precious materials. This technique has been used for over 1000 years, starting from the Heian period.
The Tsuru, in black color, is decorated with the Crane, a bird that belongs to the Gruidae family.
