The Moon has a multitude of influences on life on Earth, and wildlife has adapted to its many effects. In the moonlight, the contours of the horse's muscles are emphasized and its fur is reflected in silver.
Under the moonlight, the horse becomes a beautiful being with strength and grace. “Animals in the Moonlight” (or “Dobutsu to Gekkou”) is a series of special limited edition KOP maki-e fountain pens. The fourth model in the series by artist Ikki Moroike is titled “Horse in the Moonlight” or “Uma to Gekkou”. His hand-painted signature and serial number are drawn on each barrel.
